Aman Gupta (born 4 March 1982) is an Indian entrepreneur, angel investor, and business personality best known as the co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of boAt Lifestyle, one of India's leading consumer electronics brands. He gained nationwide popularity as one of the investors (Sharks) on the business reality television show Shark Tank India.

Early Life and Education

Aman Gupta was born in Delhi, India to Neeraj Gupta and Jyoti Kochar Gupta. He grew up in a business-oriented family environment which influenced his interest in entrepreneurship. He completed his schooling at Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram, and later pursued higher education at Delhi University.

Gupta also cleared the Chartered Accountancy entrance and studied at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). To pursue his entrepreneurial ambitions, he completed an MBA in Finance and Strategy from the Indian School of Business (ISB) and another MBA in General Management and Marketing from the Kellogg School of Management in the United States.

Career

Early Career

Aman Gupta began his professional career with Citibank as an assistant manager between 2003 and 2005. He later co-founded Advanced Telemedia Pvt. Ltd. and served as its CEO from 2005 to 2010. Although the venture faced challenges, it gave him valuable entrepreneurial experience. From 2011 to 2012, Gupta worked as a Senior Management Consultant at KPMG. He later joined Harman International (JBL) as India Sales Director, gaining deep experience in the consumer electronics industry.

Founding boAt

In 2016, Aman Gupta co-founded boAt Lifestyle with Sameer Mehta. The company initially focused on manufacturing stylish and affordable audio products such as earphones, headphones, and speakers. boAt gained popularity for its durable braided charging cables and fashionable audio accessories designed for young consumers.

Within a few years, the company expanded its product range to include wireless earbuds, smartwatches, Bluetooth speakers, and fitness wearables, quickly becoming one of India's top consumer electronics brands.

Shark Tank India

Aman Gupta gained widespread recognition after appearing as a judge on the business reality show Shark Tank India. The show allows entrepreneurs to pitch their business ideas to a panel of investors known as "Sharks." Gupta became known for his friendly personality, marketing expertise, and willingness to support innovative startups.

Through the show, he has invested in several startups including Skippi Ice Pops, Bummer, Shiprocket, WickedGud, and Anveshan. His role on the show has made him a popular public figure among young entrepreneurs.
