Apple Expands Its Presence in India

Apple has continued to expand its presence in India beyond its flagship iPhone business, building a broader ecosystem spanning Macs, iPads, wearables and services.

India has also become an important part of Apple’s global manufacturing strategy, emerging as one of its largest production bases outside China. iPhone exports from India crossed Rs 2 lakh crore in FY26.

The company is also expanding its presence in financial services through Apple Pay, which it launched in India last month in partnership with Axis Bank.

The rollout allows iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch users to make payments in apps, online and at contactless-enabled stores. Support for Mac is expected to come soon.

Apple Pay has onboarded several merchants, including Apple Store physical locations, Blinkit, Chaayos, Comet, Croma, Interflora, ixigo, Le15 Patisserie, Reliance brands, Tata 1mg and Zomato, among others.

Apple Expects Supply Constraints

Despite its growth in India, Apple expects supply constraints in the coming months due to a shortfall in advanced semiconductor manufacturing capacity and limitations in the availability of memory components.

The company expects these constraints to affect the global availability of iPhones, Macs and iPads. Markets such as India could also be affected if component shortages persist.
