Clueso Raises $10 Mn in Series A Funding Led by Dharana Capital
AI video startup Clueso has raised $10 Mn (about Rs 95 Cr) in a Series A funding round led by Dharana Capital.
The round also saw participation from new investors Founders Future and Neotribe Ventures, along with existing backers Y Combinator and F7 Ventures.
With this round, Clueso’s total funding has reached about $12 Mn. The startup previously raised $1.4 Mn in a seed funding round led by F7 Ventures.
Clueso plans to use the fresh capital to expand its enterprise sales and marketing operations, develop the AI agents powering its platform, improve its video editing capabilities and deepen integrations with systems that store product and company information.
Automating Enterprise Video Production
Founded in 2023 by IIT Madras batchmates Akash Anand, Prajwal Prakash and Neel Balar, Clueso helps businesses create and update videos using AI agents.
The startup says its platform identifies gaps in existing video content, captures software workflows and generates videos with scripts, voiceovers, animations and captions. Users can edit the videos through a browser-based editor and update them when products, processes or brand guidelines change.
Clueso also integrates with business tools to access company information and maintain consistency across video content. Its Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration enables AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT to create, edit and manage videos on the platform.
“We position ourselves as a dedicated end-to-end platform for enterprises and not a single prompt-to-video tool that consumers or creators use,” Anand told Inc42.
Clueso charges a subscription fee based on the volume of videos created and updated, the number of teams using the platform and the products covered.
Customer Base and Use Cases
The startup claims to have over 1,000 paying customers globally, including Atlassian, GitLab, Zendesk, Gainsight, Global Partners, Seismic and Ironclad. Its Indian customers include PhonePe, Zoho and MoEngage.
According to Clueso, about 65% of its customers are based in the US, 20% in Europe and around 10-15% in India.
More than 70% of the videos created on the platform are customer-facing, including product launch videos and educational content. Other applications include employee training, onboarding and compliance.
Headquartered in San Francisco, Clueso has a 39-member team, including around 35 employees in India, with a significant presence in Bengaluru.
Expansion Plans
Over the next 12-18 months, Clueso plans to expand its enterprise integrations and customer base while automating more of the video production process.
The startup also aims to track viewer engagement and use the data to improve video content.
Anand said the long-term goal is to turn video into “a living system rather than a one-time asset you produce and forget about”.
