Flipkart Minutes’ order value nears Blinkit’s: UBS

Flipkart’s quick-commerce platform Minutes is seeing order values close to market leader Blinkit, with its mobile and electronics mix giving it an advantage in overall basket size, according to UBS.

Excluding mobile phones, Flipkart Minutes’ net order value stands at around Rs 500-530, slightly below Blinkit’s average net order value of Rs 518 as of Q1 FY27. However, when mobile phones are included, Minutes’ order value is higher than Blinkit’s, reflecting Flipkart’s established strength in mobiles and electronics.

The higher basket size could give Minutes an edge as it scales its quick-commerce operations. While the platform initially had a higher mix of mobile orders, electronics and mobile categories have become bigger contributors to its overall portfolio over the past year.

Flipkart’s expertise and existing seller relationships in mobiles and electronics have helped Minutes differentiate itself from other quick-commerce platforms. At the same time, the company is expanding Minutes’ fresh category alongside beauty, personal care and other immediate-use categories.

Minutes has now expanded to more than 1,000 dark stores across 120-130 cities. The all-India network averages around 800-1,000 orders per store per day, while mature stores can reach 1,200-1,500 orders per day within five to six months of launch.

Advertising Revenue and Margins

Minutes’ advertising revenue is broadly comparable with other leading quick-commerce platforms, according to the UBS expert.

Gross margins are improving but remain below Blinkit’s levels, while city-level economics are expected to improve as markets mature. Store and city maturity will remain important drivers of Minutes’ margin trajectory.

With order values nearing Blinkit’s levels, advertising revenue broadly in line with leading peers and a higher overall basket when mobile orders are included, Minutes’ category mix could remain an important differentiator as Flipkart expands its quick-commerce footprint.

Blinkit Leads on User Reach

Blinkit continues to lead the quick-commerce market on user reach. Its share of tracked monthly active users stood at 38% in July, up 31 basis points month-on-month and 375 basis points year-on-year.

Blinkit’s MAUs grew 57% YoY during the month, compared with 15-16% growth for Zepto. Instamart’s standalone app had a 9.5% MAU share.
