Karta AI Raises $3 Million in Seed Funding Led by PeerCapital
Karta AI, a voice AI platform focused on inbound customer operations across banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), has raised $3 million in a seed funding round led by PeerCapital and Cedar Hill Capital. Wyser VC, CDM Capital and Seedstars also participated in the round.
The company said in a press release that the funds will be used to strengthen its end-to-end automation and multilingual capabilities, expand deployments with financial institutions, and scale its engineering and go-to-market teams.
Karta AI’s Voice AI Platform
Founded in 2024 by Vijaypal Singh and Abhishek Kushwaha, Karta AI develops voice AI agents that handle inbound customer calls for banks, lenders, fintech companies and insurers.
The platform integrates with enterprise systems to respond to customer queries and execute workflows without human intervention, unless escalation is required.
Unlike conventional voice bots that typically handle specific queries, Karta AI is designed to manage multiple customer intents within a single conversation. Its predictive context engine uses past interactions handled by both human agents and AI to improve query resolution and decision-making.
Customer Conversations and Platform Performance
The Bengaluru-based startup said it is live with financial institutions and handles around 2 million customer conversations a month across more than 25 languages.
According to the company, its inbound servicing agent resolves around 70% of borrower queries end to end, up from 0%. These include queries related to disbursal status, account statements, foreclosure statements and property document release.
Expansion Plans
Over the longer term, Karta AI plans to develop reusable, industry-specific capabilities and expand into international markets.
The latest funding will support the company’s efforts to enhance its platform, deepen deployments with financial institutions and expand its teams.
Investor Interest in Voice AI
India’s agentic voice AI segment has attracted growing investor interest as startups develop systems to automate customer interactions across banking, lending, fintech and insurance.
Recent funding rounds in the segment include Desible.ai’s Rs 32 crore seed plus round led by Prime Venture Partners, Navana.ai’s Rs 40 crore Series A round led by Ronnie Screwvala, and Rezolv’s $12.5 million Series A round led by Norwest.
Other players include Arrowhead, which focuses on voice AI for financial services, and Gnani.ai, which is expanding its agentic AI and multilingual voice capabilities.
While some platforms focus on specific financial services workflows, including collections, underwriting and customer support, others are developing voice AI infrastructure for broader enterprise use.
