Unstop to Acquire 100% of Talent Assessment Startup PerspectAI

Talent engagement and hiring platform Unstop has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of talent assessment startup PerspectAI in an all-equity transaction, as it looks to expand its assessment and talent intelligence capabilities.

The transaction has been structured as an equity swap with no cash consideration, Unstop said. The deal covers PerspectAI’s business, technology platform, intellectual property, data, client relationships and revenue.

The financial value of the transaction has not been disclosed.

Unstop said PerspectAI was profitable in FY26 ahead of the deal. Its employees, including founders Jignesh Talasila and Suraj Vanka, are joining Unstop as part of the transaction.

The acquisition will add PerspectAI’s behavioural and cognitive assessment technology to Unstop’s existing platform, which employers use to discover, engage, assess and hire candidates.

Adding Behavioural and Cognitive Assessments

PerspectAI combines what it calls Game Science, Data Science and People Science to assess candidates and employees.

Its platform uses psychometrics, cognitive and behavioural sciences, AI and game-based experiences to generate signals related to employability, role fit, behavioural capability and future potential.

The technology is designed to assess characteristics that may not be evident from academic qualifications, CVs or previous work alone, including how people think, learn, communicate, solve problems and respond to different situations.

Unstop said PerspectAI serves companies across banking and financial services, education, manufacturing and consumer technology. It named Aditya Birla Capital, Tata Sons, Swiggy and Motilal Oswal among PerspectAI’s enterprise clients.

Unstop plans to integrate these assessments into its wider hiring platform, allowing employers to consider behavioural and cognitive indicators alongside candidates’ credentials, skills and demonstrated work.

Ankit Aggarwal, founder and CEO of Unstop, said PerspectAI’s existing product and enterprise adoption were among the reasons for the acquisition.

“PerspectAI is not a bet on a roadmap. It is a product that large, demanding enterprises already trust and pay for. That validation, together with the depth of the team’s work in game, data and people science, is why this acquisition makes sense for us,” he said.

PerspectAI Founders to Take Roles at Unstop

PerspectAI’s engineering, quality and applied psychology teams will also join Unstop as part of the acquisition, according to the startup.

Its two founders will take on leadership roles at Unstop. Co-founder and CEO Jignesh Talasila will lead the company’s expansion into the education and government segments, while co-founder and CTO Suraj Vanka will join its product leadership team.

Talasila said PerspectAI had been built around the idea of using games and AI to better understand human potential. He said joining Unstop would allow the company to take its technology to a larger audience and give its team more scope to develop new products.

“We built PerspectAI around a simple idea: Can we really understand human potential using games and AI? Over the years, we proved that approach with some of India’s most demanding enterprises. Joining Unstop gives us the opportunity to take what we have built to a much larger audience and gives our team a broader canvas on which to innovate,” he said.

Bringing the Technology to Unstop’s Users

Unstop said it plans to make PerspectAI’s tools available to customers including campus recruiters, lateral hiring teams and large enterprises.

It also plans to use the technology to help students and professionals create more detailed talent profiles, combining their demonstrated work and skills with scientifically derived indicators of capability and potential.

The transaction is also expected to create opportunities for PerspectAI’s enterprise customers to use Unstop’s broader talent engagement and hiring products.

Its platform connects a community of more than 32 million students and professionals with companies looking to discover, engage, assess and hire talent.

For Unstop, the acquisition expands the assessment component of its existing hiring platform. PerspectAI, meanwhile, will bring its assessment technology and specialist teams into a business with a substantially larger stated user community and customer base.
