Harajuku Tokyo Cafe Raises $3 Million, Plans 10 New Outlets
Harajuku Tokyo Cafe has raised $3 million in a pre-Series A round led by Zero W to expand its restaurant and bakery business. Existing investors Indian Angel Network and Samved VC participated through follow-on investments.
The round also brought in Blume Founders Fund, Brijesh Parekh Family Office and Epigamia co-founder Rahul Jain, among other investors, according to the company’s funding announcement.
Expansion into Bengaluru and Chandigarh
Harajuku plans to open 10 outlets over the next two quarters. These will include additional locations in Delhi NCR and Mumbai, alongside its entry into Bengaluru and Chandigarh.
The company also intends to start operating central kitchens in Mumbai and Bengaluru by December 2026. These facilities will supply Harajuku Bakehouse outlets and produce packaged food for western and southern India.
Founder and chief executive Gaurav Kanwar said the business has invested in centralised kitchens and systems to monitor outlet performance, ingredient use and costs. The new capital will also support hiring and the operating capabilities needed for expansion.
Bakehouse contributes over 30% of revenue
Founded by Kanwar in 2021 and operated by Craftpac Hospitality, Harajuku runs two formats. Harajuku Tokyo Cafe offers full-service Japanese dining, while Harajuku Bakehouse sells Japanese breads, desserts and savoury snacks through a quick-service format.
The company said Bakehouse accounts for more than 30% of its total revenue. In Delhi NCR, it sells over 1,000 loaves of bread a week through Blinkit and plans to expand this business into additional metropolitan markets.
Harajuku reported that its revenue and outlet count have doubled since its August 2025 seed round. Mumbai, where the brand launched in July 2025, contributes 25% of revenue. Across dine-in and delivery, the business handles more than 1,000 orders daily, according to the company.
The latest investment follows a seed round reported at Rs 19 crore in August 2025. Kanwar said Harajuku is targeting Rs 100 crore in revenue for FY2026–27.
