Scimplify Raises $25 Mn Led by Hitachi Ventures to Expand Chemical Manufacturing

Speciality chemical manufacturing startup Scimplify has raised $25 Mn (around Rs 238 Cr) in a fresh funding round led by Hitachi Ventures, the venture capital arm of Japan’s Hitachi Group.

The round saw participation from existing investors Accel, Bertelsmann India Investments, 3one4 Capital and Omnivore. New investors Teknor Apex, Henkel and an undisclosed Japanese chemical company also participated in the funding round.

Scimplify will use the fresh capital to expand its research, processing and manufacturing capabilities in rare earth and critical metals purification. The funds will also support the expansion of its semiconductor chemicals and battery chemicals businesses.

A portion of the investment will be allocated to strengthening SciNode, Scimplify’s agentic AI platform, which connects research, process development, control and physical manufacturing.

Scimplify’s Business And Operations

Founded in 2023 by Sachin Santhosh, Salil Srivastava, Dheeraj Dhingra and Hersh Manek, Scimplify is a B2B platform specialising in end-to-end sourcing and manufacturing of speciality chemicals. The startup also provides contract research and commercial chemical manufacturing services for agro-chemicals, active pharmaceutical ingredients and fragrances.

The company operates research and development (R&D) facilities in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Its SciNode software platform supports its manufacturing operations, while its network includes more than 500 manufacturing partners and thousands of scientists and technical partners.

Before the latest fundraise, Scimplify secured $40 Mn in its Series B funding round in March last year. The round was co-led by Accel and Bertelsmann Investments.

Commenting on the company’s growth, Accel partner Rachit Parekh said, “In the 18 months since our initial investment, Scimplify has grown from serving 600+ customers across 16 countries to building a global platform with 1,000+ customers across 40+ countries.”

Scimplify’s customers include Henkel, Coromandel, Dr Reddy’s, Coherent, Holcim, BASF, Sanyo and Marubeni, among others. The startup claims to operate across five countries and serve more than 1,000 customers across over 40 countries.

Scimplify Plans US Expansion

Going forward, Scimplify plans to expand its presence in the US, initially focusing on sectors where domestic processing capabilities remain limited. These include rare earth and critical metals purification and processing, along with high-purity semiconductor and battery chemicals.

The expansion aligns with the company’s focus on strengthening its capabilities in specialised chemical manufacturing and processing.

Indian Speciality Chemicals And Deeptech Funding

Scimplify’s latest fundraise comes as India looks to strengthen its position in the global chemicals value chain. Earlier this week, Bengaluru-based speciality chemicals startup NuSynth Technologies raised Rs 36.5 Cr in a seed funding round co-led by Avaana Capital and Shastra VC.

Scimplify operates within the broader Indian deeptech sector, which continues to attract investor attention amid regulatory support, subsidies, innovative local solutions, a growing talent pool and rising domestic demand.

Indian deeptech startups raised $290 Mn across 28 deals in Q3 2026, marking a 176% increase from $105 Mn across 29 deals in the year-ago period. The sector outpaced the broader Indian startup ecosystem, where funding grew 5% to $2.2 Bn.
